Studio Café

The Studio Café serves freshly prepared food daily and is located in the lobby next to Starbucks.

Our breakfast menu is served until 11.30am and includes mouth-watering pastries as well as your choice of bacon, sausage or egg sandwiches.

Our afternoon menu is served until 5pm during weekdays and until 8pm at weekends and during peak periods. Menu options include freshly prepared hot and cold meals such as salads, baguettes and jacket potatoes, as well as cakes and children's lunch boxes.

The Backlot

The backlot is home to our external sets and can be found midway through the tour.

This is a great meeting and resting point where you can enjoy some light snacks and refreshments surrounded by authentic sets from the Harry Potter film series.

Butterbeer

The backlot is where you will also have the opportunity to enjoy a frothy Butterbeer; a non-alcoholic beverage reminiscent of shortbread and butterscotch.

Don't forget to take a photo of your Butterbeer moustache!

Did You Know?

We also have an outdoor picnic area adjacent to our car park which you're welcome to use before or after your visit.

Please note, we politely request that visitors consume their food and drinks in the backlot before entering the next part of the Studio Tour.

Accommodation

When planning your visit to the Studio Tour you may be looking for nearby overnight accommodation.

We are located just north of Watford, within easy reach of London, and there are plenty of hotels to choose from in the area.

Whether seeking a family room, making a night of it in a luxury hotel or simply looking for somewhere to rest your head, there are a great range of hotels nearby to suit all budgets and needs through our preferred partner Superbreak.

Access

At the Studio Tour we strive to do everything we can to meet visitors’ specific needs and are constantly seeking to improve the service we provide.

Throughout the Studio Tour, our helpful and friendly staff will be on hand to assist you, ensuring that you have the best possible experience.

Please scroll down for more information on carer tickets, BSL tours, wheelchair access, guide dogs and audio assistance.

Booking Tickets

So that we can understand your specific needs and make sure all your expectations are met, please contact our Visitor Services Team on 0845 084 0900 or via our Contact Form.

Our team will work closely with you to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

Carers

One free carer ticket can be provided for each paying disabled visitor and these are booked through our Visitor Services Team. Carers must provide assistance to the visitor and proof of entitlement will be required on entry to the Studio Tour. We currently accept the following:

  • Letter/notice of entitlement for Personal Independence Payment
  • Letter from your doctor
  • Blue parking badge or Freedom Pass

If you have any questions regarding proof of entitlement please raise this with a member of our Visitor Services Team before your visit.

British Sign Language (BSL) Tours

In order to assist our visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing, we provide British Sign Language tours at no extra cost. The interpreter will remain onsite for the duration of the Studio Tour and will meet you in the entrance foyer.

BSL tours are available in the morning on selected dates and must be booked at least 14 days in advance. While they are easiest to book when purchasing your ticket, they can also be added afterwards when sufficient notice is given.

To add the BSL element to an existing booking or to enquire about purchasing tickets with a BSL guide please contact our Visitor Services Team on 0845 084 0900 or via our Contact Form.

Accessibility

Navigate your way through authentic sets, props and costumes from the Harry Potter film series including the Great Hall and Diagon Alley.

Assistance Dogs

We welcome all registered guide dogs, hearing dogs and medical alert dogs into the Studio Tour. If your dog requires a water bowl, please ask a member of staff who will be happy to provide one. We do not permit other dogs or pets to enter the attraction.

Wheelchairs

While manual and electric wheelchairs are welcome inside the Studio Tour, we do require advance notice due to seating restrictions within our cinema at the beginning of your visit. Due to the layout of the attraction, this also means that only a certain number of wheelchair users can enter the latter part of the tour at any given time. Our Visitor Services Team are happy to discuss this and other accessibility concerns with you prior to booking, so please do make them aware of your specific needs.

The majority of the Studio Tour is suitable for wheelchairs but some areas can be difficult to navigate, this includes Diagon Alley’s cobbled street and the Great Hall's slate floor. The Hogwarts bridge can only be accessed via a short staircase and alternative access cannot be provided because the bridge, as an original set piece, has an uneven surface which is unsuitable for wheelchair users. The Knight Bus also has a short boarding platform which cannot be accessed by wheelchairs.

Our green screen area provides visitors with two fully accessible photo opportunities, including the chance to fly a broomstick as members of the cast would have done during filming. Visitors must be able to transfer themselves on to a broomstick and seatbelts can be provided if required.

Mobility Vehicles

For health and safety reasons, we cannot allow mobility vehicles or electric scooters into the attraction. We have a number of free manual wheelchairs available to borrow for those who need to arrive using a mobility vehicle or electric scooter. Please inform a member of our Visitor Services Team before your visit so that we can arrange this in advance.

Guides and Assistance

More information about our Digital Guides can be found on our Enhance Your Visit page.

Digital Guides

Our handheld audio-visual guides act as extra content for the Studio Tour rather than as an audio descriptive guide for those who are blind or visually impaired.

Personal induction loops can be provided for our hireable Digital Guides, which are available on arrival in the foyer area of the Studio Tour. They require hearing aids to be moved to the ‘T’ position and can be requested in advance from our Visitor Services Team.

Audio Assistance

Induction loops are fitted throughout the tour and are compatible with most hearing aids provided with the “T-coil” (T switch) function. Personal induction loops can also be provided for our hireable Digital Guides. These are available when you collect your Digital Guide from the lobby area of the Studio Tour.

If you have any questions regarding induction loops or the use of hearing aids within the Studio Tour please contact a member of our team here or by phone on 0845 084 0900.

On Arrival

More details about our car park and arrival can be found on our Visit Essentials page.

Parking

Parking is provided free of charge in our car park directly outside the Studio Tour. A number of blue disability badge parking bays are available close to the main entrance for the convenience of our eligible visitors. Please ensure that you bring your disabled parking badge on the day of your visit and display it in your window. For more information or for specific enquiries, speak to a member of our Car Parking Team on arrival.

Getting Tickets

In order to collect your free carer ticket on arrival, you will need to present proof of eligibility in either a letter or notice form regarding entitlement for Personal Independence Payment. We will also accept a letter from your doctor, blue parking badges or Freedom Passes.

Toilets

There is an accessible toilet within the main entrance foyer with space for a disabled person and up to two carers. Disabled toilets are also located at additional locations throughout the Studio Tour.

During Your Visit

Our knowledgeable staff members are on hand at regular intervals throughout the Studio Tour, should you need any assistance.

Getting Around

Throughout the Studio Tour, the majority of the props are contained within glass cases or within fragile sets and cannot be touched. Please bear this in mind if bringing a guest who is visually impaired. To help us provide you with the best possible service, we do ask you to disclose any access requirements you may have when booking your tickets so that we can do our best to assist you. Please see above for details on our wheelchair accessibility.

Toilets

All toilets are easily accessible and disabled restrooms are located at regular points throughout the Studio Tour.

Medical assistance

Should you require medical assistance while at the Studio Tour, please contact your nearest member of staff. They will be located throughout the attraction and can be identified by their blue striped uniforms and name badges. We always have a dedicated first aider on site and are happy to help if you have a problem.

Queuing

We are happy to arrange seating for those who have difficulty queuing or standing for long periods of time. Should you require this service, please speak to a member of staff who can arrange for you to wait separately whilst still holding your space in the queue.

Seating

A number of benches are located at regular intervals throughout the Studio Tour for your convenience.
